Our FX make-up workshops are a great introduction to the hidden art of special effects for film, TV and theatre production. The pupils get a hands on insight of what it takes to re-create a real looking wound or black eye and the challenges that this offer to each of them. Better off is the sense of achievement that the pupils get once they achieve their masterpiece, some of them parading their wounds all the way home (to a certain parent heart failure!)
Our FX media make-up workshops are ideal for school children from year 7 to year 11.
Our Theatrical Media Make-up Workshops are provided by two experienced and V.T.C.T. qualified, fully insured, CRB checked, professional instructors.
All Theatrical Media Make-up Workshops begin with an introduction to the art (with an emphasis on the health and safety standards) and demonstration of the effects to be done by the students. Students then work in pairs trying the different effects out on each other in turn with full guidance throughout. All equipment and products are supplied.
A 2 hour make-up workshop includes the dramatic techniques of cuts and wounds, while a 3 hour workshop includes further skills of black eyes and bruises. For additional workshops to run over the course of a week or once weekly, techniques available include ageing, burns, facial hair, photographic and stage make-up.
